DepEd Suspends Pilot Run of Face-to-Face Classes Based on President's Instruction

The Department of Education released an official statement tonight regarding with the recall of President Rodrigo Duterte's approval of the pilot run of face-to-face classes.

Based on the statement posted on the department's Facebook page dated today, December 26, 2020, Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones confirmed that the president recalled his approval of the dry run of face-to-face classes in low- risk areas which was slated in the first month of 2021. This actions happened due to the reported new strain of the COVID-19. DepEd followed the president's instruction by declaring the suspension of the pilot implementation of face- to- face classes until further notice. The department further stated that they will cooperate with the Inter- Agency Task Force (IATF) regarding with current situation.
