Creative Writing Weekly Home Learning Plan Quarter 1 Week 3


Hello, students. Your learning tasks for this week are posted here. Make sure to read and do them diligently. We will unleash the poet inside you. This week is the time to play with words, rhymes and figurative language. The printed version of the Weekly Home Learning Plan will be distributed. You can access the digital copy here

For printed modules, check the number of pages and readability of the Self- Learning Modules (SLM), AIRs module and handout. For the digital modules, check if the files are readable on the device you are using. If problems are found, report to your subject teacher or class advisers.

This week, you will delve on poetry. It is important to the elements and specific forms and conventions of poetry.

Go to Elements of the Genre lesson on Page 3 of your SLM. In What I Know, the competency needed to be attained is indicated. Proceed to What I Know and answer the multiple choices items from Page 3 to 4. Write your answer on a separate sheet of paper. You may also encode your answers on Microsoft Word or other document maker software or app.

Get the AIR material and read Jumpstart part about poetry from Page 3 to Page 4. You should identify its characteristics. It has three types: narrative, dramatic, and lyrical. After that, answer Activity 1 from Page 4 to 5. Place your answer on a separate sheet of paper. Encoding is also allowed.

Read the elements of poetry found in Pages 5 to 6 of the AIR material. Read more details about theme, tone, and mood in your SLM from Page 5 to 6. Then, answer What’s More activity from Page 6 to 7 of your SLM. Use a sheet of paper for this activity. Encoding of answers is also allowed.

Read the contents about Poetic Devices and Techniques in Writing Poetry in the AIR material from Page 6 to 7.

Proceed to Conventional Forms of Poetry, Page 13 of your SLM. Answer the items under What I Know on the same page. Write your answer on a separate sheet of paper. Encoding of answers is also allowed.

Read contents about the Types of Philippine Poetry starting from Page 13 to 14 of your SLM. Then, do any of the task under What’s More Activity. Write your answer on a separate sheet of paper. Encoding of answers is also allowed.

Read the handout about the well-known types of poetry. After reading, write a haiku or any of other forms presented in the handout. Write your answer on a separate sheet of paper. Encoding of answers is also allowed.
